Before You Go

We strongly recommend that all of our guests travel with a passport (valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel). Having a valid passport will enable you to fly from the U.S. to a foreign port in the event you miss your scheduled embarkation, or to fly back to the U.S. should you need to disembark the ship mid-cruise for any reason.
Click here to apply for your passport today.
U.S. citizens who do NOT have a passport should be prepared to provide a valid government-issued photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License) and proof of U.S. citizenship in the form of an original or certified copy of their U.S. birth certificate, or other acceptable forms of identification described here.
It is important that guest names on travel documents be identical to those on their cruise booking. Otherwise, proof of name change (i.e. a marriage license) AND a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID must be presented.
When booking your flights, we recommend you arrive in Miami the day prior to your departure (or earlier). This will help you to avoid missing the cruise due to any potential flight delays, lost baggage or other problems that could occur.
However, should you need to arrive on the date of departure, please note that Miami International Airport (MIA) is approximately 10-miles from the Port of Miami cruise terminals. Please allow approximately 20 minutes travel time from the airport to the Port.
Before The Cruise
Guests should plan to arrive at the Port on September 28th by 12:00p-ET (but not before 11:30a-ET). Check-in and Embarkation at the Port will begin at 12:00pm-ET. You MUST be on the ship no later than 2:30pm – We will set sail at 5:00pm.
After The Cruise
Disembarkation will begin at approximately 7:00am.
When booking your return flight out of Miami, NCL recommends choosing flights that depart after 12:00pm.
September-October temperatures in the Bahamas range from an average low of 85 degrees to an average high of 95 degrees. So it is suggested that you pack lightweight, “resort casual” clothing — a few swimsuits, flip-flops, sandals or deck shoes for around the pool area, sneakers, walking shoes or hiking boots for shore trips, etc. If you like to exercise or participate in sports, bring any fitness clothing and footwear you may need. T-shirts, shorts, and/or bare feet are not permitted in the main dining rooms.
Some of the shows and activities will be taking place outdoors, and there is always the chance of it being windy, cool or even a little wet. So we suggest also packing some warmer clothing and light rain gear just to be on the safe side. Also be sure to bring your cameras, batteries and chargers, and enough film or memory cards to capture the entire event. And don’t forget ear plugs for the young ones (or yourself), sunscreen and lip balm.
We recommend that you hand-carry all your travel documents (passports, birth certificates, airline tickets, etc.) medications, jewelry and any personal items that you may need in a separate carry-on bag. You should not put these items into checked luggage as they could become lost and prevent you from boarding the ship. Also, your luggage may take a few hours before it is delivered to your cabin.
On the last evening of your cruise your luggage will be collected for disembarkation the following morning. So you may want to pack a separate overnight bag to accommodate your last evenings’ clothes and sundries to carry off the ship with you.
Motorhead’s Motorboat Guests are not allowed to bring onboard the vessel any intoxicating liquors/beverages*, firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substances or any goods of a dangerous nature, nor animals of any kind, except service or guide animals, provided the passenger notifies Carrier prior to the cruise of his intention to bring such animal and agrees to take sole responsibility for any expense, damage, injuries or losses associated with or caused by such animal. All US and international laws pertaining to drug use should be respected, and will be strictly enforced. Please refer to our Zero Tolerance Policy.
There is no limit to how many bags you can bring onboard, however storage space in cabins is limited. All carry on and checked bags will go through security. Make sure your luggage is tagged with the Norwegian luggage tags you will receive in your cruise packs. You will be able to obtain more at the pier.
Guests may bring bottles of wine and champagne on board. When bottles are brought on board and served or consumed in any restaurant, public room area or in their stateroom, a corkage fee will be charged.
Passengers must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol.
Norwegian permits young adults to purchase and personally consume wine and beer only while onboard and with the consent of an accompanying parent. Authorization will be given only when the accompanying parent completes the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form. This form can be obtained and completed at the Guest Services Desk upon embarkation of the vessel.
Motorhead’s Motorboat and Norwegian Cruise Lines encourage the responsible use of alcohol and accordingly reserves the right to permanently or temporarily revoke the drinking privileges of any guest who violates Motorhead’s Motorboat’s Zero Tolerance Police and Norwegian’s Guest Code of Conduct or who is deemed a danger to himself, herself or others by vessel management. Continued abuse of alcohol while sailing and/or violation of Norwegian’s alcohol policy may result in immediate disembarkation.
